I wish I may, I wish I might...

rest my head in this bed tonight! God I love Anthropologie.
Here's hoping I get a large, juicy tax return back!
What a one of a kind masterpiece to pass through the family, right?
I must have this....

...a new addition to my favorite chairs of all time. Period.

I stumbled across this amazing website called hivemodern and they have the coolest, coolest, coolest furniture items I've ever seen all on one site. They have the modern classics every designer knows and loves, but they also have a nice collection of late 20th and early 21st century pieces too. Below is one FAV I stumbled upon, the Peacock Chair. The Peacock chair was born in 2009 by Israeli designer Dror Bershetrit, a big "it" designer of the moment {well since 2009}. He's had items made for Target {which is pretty big to me} and also many other projects, such as his luxury eco-friendly hotel in Abu Dhabi, I believe still under construction. I look forward to seeing all things from Mr. Dror in the future!

Obsessed with...

Voluspa Candles. I've always loved candles and I'm always up for a new kind and a fresh scent. For years in my teens, I was obsessed with the Ocean Scent candle from Pier One. Then when I worked at Bliss here in Knoxville, I became obsessed with the crisp cotton local soy candles. Then everything changed: I received a Voluspa candle as a baby shower hostess gift and I've never been the same. Below are some of my fav's currently burning in my home. OBSESSED!!!

perfect bathroom scent: laguna
living room scent: santiago huckleberry
bedroom scent: macassar ebony (also my favorite type of wood)
and my favorite christmas scent: frost pinecone

It's the final countdown....

So it's the dead of winter and we actually have snow on the ground here in Knoxville for probably the 6th time this winter. For years, we didn't have much snow at all and I missed it and thought "oh its gotta be that global warming thing" - but now, I feel like it snows once a week!
So my countdown for warmer weather has begun. Before the warm weather comes back, I will have a pretty big birthday. My whole life thus far has been filled of birthdays you look forward to:
turning 10 (double digits!),
turning 13 (teenager!),
turning 15 (mom can I drive?),
turning 16 (watch out drivers!),
turning 18 (LEGAL, adult),
turning 20 (wooo!! No longer a teenager, I'm sooo grown up!),
turning 21 (for real LEGAL),
and just for adult fun, turning 25 (woo insurance drops, I can rent a car).
But then, what's after that? Is this when you realize you're at the top of the hill and all future birthdays are a dread instead of a dream? From what my friends in their 30's and 40's have told me, this is not the case. I am really trying to be on the train of embracing this golden birthday of mine. Looking back on my 20's, I've accomplished a lot: traveled, loved, worked great jobs with great people, married a really wonderful man, and had a LOT of fun! Probably a little more fun than I should have but I don't regret a thing! The person I've tried soo hard to be in my 20's is really just the person I am. And I'm pretty happy with that.
To "assist" in the embracement of the 30th birthday, we are taking a trip back to Puerto Vallarta where we spent our honeymoon! Dan and I fell in love with this city when we were there in 08 and we can't wait to go back with good friends (also turning 30) and have a blast!
So begins the final countdown to MEXICO! :)

It's been a long, long while...

One of my goals for the New Year is to get back into blogging. I miss design so much and blogging helps me find new products, new solutions, new spaces. I need this outlet from the day in day out sales routine. So with that being said...I'm back!

And below is where I wish I could be right now. I'm sick and would love nothing more than to soak in this tub with lavender, a nice glass of sparkling wine in my hand, music on my speakers with snow on the ground.

Instead I sit in my wing back chair (it's at least 80 years old. It belonged to my husbands great grandmother) watching the movie Before Sunset (love both of these movies) sipping on hot tea covered in vicks vapor rub. But I'm happy!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Here's to a happy, healthy new year of discovery and excitement!
